Taqasim Music School
The Taqasim Music School offers a flexible education program that covers all areas which contribute to the growth of a musician, from music theory to instrumental practice.
We aim to provide education in all possible forms: individual and group classes, workshops, seminars, books, audio, video and the internet. However, given the advanced aspects of taqasim, we privilege face to face lessons, either individual or in small groups.
A free assessment session can be arranged to evaluate the student's experience and identify the appropriate course level.
Taqasim Music School can provide a very limited set of instruments and percussions for beginners: students are advised to purchase their own personal instrument (Oud or Darbouka).
Upon request, we can also recommend some music shops in London which sell quality instruments at reasonable prices.
Beginners classes consist of 10 lessons of 1 hour for small groups of up to 4 students.
The weekly calendar is agreed with the students at the beginning of the term.
Intermediate and advanced classes are individual and do not have a fixed program, as they are adapted to the student's skills and experience.
All the necessary materials (written notes, music sheets, audio samples) are provided for free in digital format or in paper at printing costs.
